The More Buyable Venues Mod by LittleMsSam has a “Rentable Business” feature that gives you fully functional motels in The Sims 4. It’s extremely easy to use and setup. I also found a realistic rundown motel you can download. This motel build includes all the cc but the interior is empty. You’ll have to build your own rooms.
How To Set Up A Functional Motel
Download and place your motel on a lot or build one of your own. Set the lot type to “Rentable Business”. Give the lot the “B&B|Motel|Hotel lot trait. The motel should have an office for the owner and a few rooms for guests. Each room will need a bed, small cooking area, bathroom, and a computer to keep the guests busy. If you want to add pools and other activities be sure to do so.
Gameplay
Now you have a couple of options of how you want to play. You can buy the motel and run it like a business or visit the motel as a guest. If you want to own it, make sure you build a home lot for the Sim you’re going to play and place a computer there. Use the computer and head over to the “Household” menu. The LittleMsSam’s Venues are behind that menu. Select “Buy Rentable Business”. Making sure you have enough simoleons to make the purchase, you can then select the world and lot of the motel.
You’re Sim will spawn on the motel lot, send them to the computer in their office to manage and operate the motel. To spawn motel guests select “Confirm Bookings”. Select from the Sim Picker for guests you want to arrive. They will appear almost immediately in front of the motel. Next you will need to “Check In Guests” via the computer. Once you’ve done that they will get a special trait. They usually find a room on their own and use the computer. When it’s time for a Guest to leave, select “Check Out Guests” on the computer. They will soon leave the lot.
One last important note, since owners get a special trait you’ll need to remove it by selling the business when you’re done.
