Self Click on your Sim.
From the Action menu select: “Something Feels Off”.
This interaction will give your Sim the “Rare Illness” buff. This is a 24 hour buff that’ll make your Sim feel extremely uncomfortable.
Once you have the rare illness, click on a bed.
Select ” Place In Coma Care”
Your Sim will get in the bed and sleep until you cancel the interaction.
The rare illness buff will last 24 hours. When the sim has the buff their needs will not decay. Once the buff expires, they will experience need decay.
You can keep the sim in the coma state as long as you like, until you cancel the interaction.
Assigning A Devoted Caregiver
Self click on the Sim you want to be the caregiver. Select “Assign Devoted Caregiver”. This will unlock new social interactions you can use on the coma patient.
Note:
I couldn’t get the interactions to loot a notification or buff.
click on the coma patient for the coma care social menu.
Get Out Of Coma. Self click the sim in coma and select “Release From Coma”. This will loot a dazed buff while the Sim recovers.
Remove Devoted Caregiver trait from the caregiver, self click, actions menu, “Remove Devoted Caregiver”.
