This is a companion guide to my recent video that takes you step-by-step through the process of using a variety of mods to create a functional education system in The Sims 4.
A functional education system means that any Sim from the toddler age to elderly can get an education and you can join them. All are active. So to start things off be aware this will require you to have the Get To Work expansion pack for The Sims 4.
FUNCTIONAL DAYCARE
With a functional Daycare your Sim will be able to earn money taking care of toddlers that exist in that world. Be sure to add more toddlers if needed. You need the “Live-In Business Mod” by LittleMsSam. An alternative mod you can use is the “More Buyable Venues Mod” by the same modder.
To setup your Daycare with the Live-In Business Mod you simply build or download a daycare and place it on a lot. Set the lot type to Residential or General if you want. Add the DayCare lot trait and enter Live Mode. Your all set, just click on the door to open up for business. Toddlers in the world will spawn for you to take care of. The best part is you get $300 per toddler up front.
Setting up a Daycare with the More Buyable Venues Mod is just as simple. The only difference is you’ll set the venue type to daycare instead of a lot trait. Toddler will spawn and stay for 8 hours. Please read the instructions further on the associated mod download pages.

FUNCTIONAL ELEMENTARY AND HIGHSCHOOLS
For complete instructions on how to set this up I recommend watching the YouTube video above. You’ll need the Go To School Mod but I suggest getting the mod in the same download as Get To College which you get Here.
The file you’ll select when you go to download is the (GetToCollegeV3.4.0MT_WithGoToSchool.zip)

FUNCTIONAL UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES
Using the same file you downloaded above for elementary and high schools, you can create a fully functional university. Check the mod download page for further details.
To set it up you will simply place your College on any lot, set the venue type to one of the following: All Majors In University, Physical Education Building, Fine Arts Building, or Music Building.
The type of venue you select determines the major your Sim will choose. Example, if you select your college to be the Music Building venue type, then the major would be Music. For the all majors, you can select one of the combined majors.
You are ready to follow your sim to school after that. Very simple. Just be sure to read the mod download page because there are certain requirements for each major. Example, the arts major requires the college to have the “Get To College Podium”, which I forgot to add in the video, plus 11 easels and at least 1 woodworking table. Forgot that too in the video. But worked fine lol.
From there study and attend classes.
