Senior Living Mod adds the realistic experience of being an elder Sim. From common ailments like arthritis and incontinence, to more serious issues like dementia. Elders are called Senior Citizens with this mod and have their own rabbithole hotspots they can visit to have some fun. Senior Citizens can also gain wisdom from the wisdom skill. Leveling up this skill will unlock new interactions that will help other Sims as wise words are shared.
How To Get Started
In CAS give your elder Sim the Senior Citizen trait located in the lifestyle category. This trait will have two social menus and interactions you can use.

Both interactions will help your Sim level up their Wisdom Skill.
Elderly Sims with this trait will get random buffs that will make them very uncomfortable.
Random Arthritis Buff
Your Sim will feel very uncomfortable for a few hours while having arthritis symptoms. To relieve these symptoms you can purchase pain medication from the “Elder Care Services” menu, and the “ Drug Store” sub menu. You only have to purchase this once and use the medication from your Sim’s inventory.
Random Incontinence Buff
As Sims age their ability to hold it might be a little weak. So they’ll have frequent bladder failure with this buff for a few hours. Their hygiene will take a big hit too. If you have a Residential Caregiver you’ll be able to ask them to help you bathe. However you’ll probably want to purchase incontinence underwear from the Drug Store menu. Clicking on the underwear from your Sim’s menu will stop the bladder failure.
Random Feeling Old Buff
This buff will make your elderly Sim feel really bad and uncomfortable. So much so they’ll need to see the doctor. From the “Elder Care Services” menu you can “Schedule A Doctor Visit”. This is a rabbithole doctor visit that’ll have two different possible outcomes. Either your Sim will be just fine and need to relax and take better care of themselves, to a drastic diagnosis of Dementia.
When your Sim returns from the doctor visit you’ll know what the issue is. If it’s Dementia they’ll have symptoms of forgetfulness. The Senior Citizen social menu will be grayed out due to the inability to remember what to say. Other social interactions will remain however.
To battle dementia and get rid of it completely, head over to the “Drug Store” menu and purchase Dementia medication. The interaction requires a doctor’s prescription which you should have in your inventory from the rabbithole doctor visit.
Take the medication straight from inventory and you’ll get rid of the Dementia altogether.

Elder Care Services Menu
From this menu you’ll find a group of sub menus. This is the main hub for senior citizens to access a number of new functional computer interactions.
Get Assisted Living Service
This interaction will give your Sim a trait that unlocks the ability to Hire a Residential Caregiver, and the ability to get assistance from them.
Hire Residential Caregiver
Using this interaction will spawn the Residential Caregiver with the social menu “Get Assistance”. When your Senior Citizen Sim clicks on the caregiver they can ask for assistance walking or bathing. Walking assistance provides a big boost of energy for the elderly Sim to get around better. Bathing assistance drastically improves the elderly Sim’s hygiene. They won’t have to go through the struggle of trying to bath or shower on their own.
Schedule A Doctor Visit
Explained above, however you can schedule these doctor visits whenever you want.
Drug Store
This Drug store has just a few items you can purchase. Arthritis medication, Dementia medication (requires prescription), incontinence underwear, and a newspaper.
Coupon Clipping
If you purchase a newspaper you’ll be able to “Clip Coupons”. The coupons will appear in your inventory and give you a discount price on Arthritis medication, incontinence underwear, and Dementia Medication from the “Use Coupons” menu.
Elderly Hotspot
Older Sims can get out of the house and go somewhere through these rabbitholes. They have the choice of going to church, bingo hall, or horse races.
Functional Assisted Living Facilities
If your elderly Sims are living alone and it isn’t safe for them anymore, they can opt to live at an assisted living facility. To set this up, create a lot specifically for this lot. Give the lot the Assisted Living Facility lot trait. This lot trait will spawn several neighbor Senior Citizens that will live in the facility with you. It’ll also spawn a Residential Caregiver you can get assistance from if you use the “Get Assisted Living Service” interaction. The Residential Caregiver will cook and clean for the entire facility too if they aren’t busy socializing with the residents.
